Loch Lomond Villa's residents are the focus of all our activity! We deliver a resident-centered approach to care and service.
We assist residents to achieve and maintain an optimal level of functioning through the promotion of self-care. Integral to this is our goal to provide a system that supports our resident's rights to self-determination and independence for as long as possible, and by utilizing all available resources to provide optimal lifestyles and appropriate levels of care.
We acknowledge, respect and emphasize the role family and community play in the optimal health of our residents, and strive to maintain/enhance their involvement wherever possible.
Our Approach:
We follow a primary care model so that the same staff (as much as possible) are assigned to the same resident or unit each day. This decreases the number of staff working with a resident in a given period, ensuring more consistency in care. Our approach decreases anxiety and confusion for our residents, increases security and trust, and provides them with care staff to ensure consistent, effective and efficient care.
Who We Serve:
Loch Lomond Villa offers various levels of nursing care to those requiring assistance. Our professional employees provide care, rehabilitation and special programs, with a commitment to guiding our resident toward social, spiritual, psychological and physical well being.
Through this commitment, we have also created special environments for helping residents with Dementia and those who are mentally frail. The units and the care delivered through them, are tailored to meet the unique needs of these individuals. Both private and semi-private rooms are provided. Furnished with special mementos and personal belongings, our resident's surroundings become home.
Community partners are very important to Loch Lomond Villa, as we are committed to the pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement in the delivery of holistic care. We will continue to strengthen linkages with the community and offer appropriate access to services based on the community needs and available resources.
Quality Of Service Program:
Resident safety is a priority at Loch Lomond Villa. We aim to provide the safest and best care possible. An overall resident-focused management approach was adopted to improve resident services through the Quality of Service Program. The primary goal of the Quality of Service Program is to guide the implementation of a service delivery model that supports and enhances the resident-focused approach adopted within our work place.
The implementation of the Quality of Service Program has tremendously improved the structure and the work environment in our nursing home, the communication lines have improved, front-line staff are more empowered, there is more cohesive management teams, staff realize the benefit of education and training, co-operation, teamwork and partnering is recognized and everyone contributes to the continuous improvement of service.
Our staff understand and support the evolution to a more "Living-Orientated" approach to facility-based care, and we support this philosophy through effective management systems and staff education programs. Loch Lomond Villa is a nationally accredited facility having served its residents and the community for over 35 years.
Our complex consists of the main building which includes the central lounge, family room, activity areas, kitchens, dining rooms, reception area and offices. The entire Villa complex is easily accessible through a series of spacious indoor pedways and elevators. Also available on site are beauty salons, courtyards, lounge, chapel and country Store. Loch Lomond Villa has 6 nursing units with 3 levels of resident care. Two of the six units are specialized units, our 34-bed Alzheimer's Unit, and the 19-bed Psychogeriatric Unit.
